This is a review of randomized controlled trials investigating auditory integration training and other sound therapies for adults or children with autism spectrum disorder.
Conclusions
“In the absence of evidence, this treatment is considered experimental and care must be taken not to risk hearing loss. Parents need to be aware of the cost involved in pursuing these treatments" (p. 8). Further research is warranted.
